Jo Probert

I’m an established artist and work in soft pastel, with the end result being bright, bold and contemporary.

For me, drawing pictures with bright colours that make people feel better is, and always has been, a really good thing to do.

Now living in South Devon, I’m able to explore this beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty every day, capturing the sea and landscape in my work in all its beauty.

As the seasons change so do the colours, and this allows me to introduce so many vibrant hues that I love.

Pieces of artwork come in many forms, but if when you can look at a piece it evokes a feeling, a memory or just that sense of I like it then to me there’s no better feeling as an artist producing work to share.

The South Sands Hotel is such a welcoming dog friendly hotel, that it seems fitting to dedicate the pictures in the exhibition to my four legged friend Dizzy who sadly is no longer by my side. We spent most days whilst she was alive out and about looking for new scenes to capture. She also had a habit of making people feel better too, including her canine companions. It was a bond I feel incredibly lucky to have shared. Thank you so much Diz .
